Travers Day

It was hot. I forgot Luke's toys. Did I mention it was hot? We tried our best to enjoy the day with friends, but we spent more time wandering, eating and on the playground than betting on the ponies. We did manage to win $7 though, those pink horses seem to do well for me and Ellie!

Playing with her horses while waiting to see the real ones.

Eating some Shack Shake and mac and cheese from a food truck. Felt like we were in NYC.

More pictures of our summer

More from our trip to the northern reaches of Lake George.

Sunrise on the porch.

Good friends.

They loved the wind in their hair.

Trying to fish off the dock and not hook anyone in the eye.

The Washington County Fair
She fell asleep on the way there.

Woke up to horse heaven.

Very appropriately attired.

Fair food. Fish fry and a cider donut. Parents of the year.

I think she's thinking, "Luke, can you believe we are getting away with this?"

JD heaven for him.

We need this mom!

Riding the carousel.

Trying to win a fish and losing our cash in the process.

Sitting on the dock of the bay wasting time

This past weekend was our annual daytrip turned overnight stay at our friends lakehouse located at the tippy top of Lake George. The kids stayed up late and woke up early. 5:45am early which resulted in a trip to Wal-Mart at 6:45am followed by pancakes, bacon, and lots of coffee. We were on the beach at 9am and on the boat at 2pm. Save a few minor hiccups, like how I ripped open the top of my big toe on a rock and when the boat just kind of died near Anthony's Nose creating a minor (okay semi-major) panic in the adults as we floated near the rocks of the shore, it was a picture perfect day. But yeah, kinda major panic was in effect until the boat finally started again. All's well that ends well though, and it ended perfectly fine! We fished, we swam, we watched cliff jumpers and rock climbers, we barbecued and listened to the sweet sounds of vinyl records.

Perfection. I only wish it had lasted longer than 24 hours.
